Unfortunately, it happens with our cats that we receive bad news about the state of health, which can be very stressful. The good news is, that today there are many more medical options to help your cat. A medical insurance for your cat will help you, without financial stress, to provide your cat with the best possible medical care.

How to proceed:
1. Your cat is not feeling well and he/she needs medical treatment.
2. You take your cat to a veterinarian who will perform treatment.
3. You submit your paid veterinary bill to us and we will reimburse you up to 100% of your costs, depending on your
chosen insurance coverage.

Yes, Calingo also covers pre-existing conditions of your beloved pet. To do so, you must choose
the additional coverage "pre-existing conditions" when purchasing the insurance.
Calingo does not distinguish between hereditary diseases and normal conditions. We
only distinguish between an emerging condition and a
pre-existing condition. But what exactly is a pre-existing condition?

We define a pre-existing condition as any medical condition that your cat has been diagnosed with or received treatment for in the last 24 months. If the condition was last treated/diagnosed more than 24 months ago, we will consider it a new condition.

You do not pay a deductible per visit to the vet, except for additional coverage for pre-existing conditions. As with us humans, you pay an annual deductible for your cat. You decide yourself how high your annual deductible is (CHF 0; 150; 300; 500; 1'000).

No. Compared to other providers, your premium will not become more expensive
with the age of your cat. Of course, it is more expensive for an insurer to insure an older cat
than a younger one. The reason for this is that cats need to go to the vet more often as they get older. Therefore, we ask owners of cats over 10 years of age to cover 20% of the cost of all vet visits.

We here at Calingo put your pet’s wellbeing as a priority. It’s for that reason that we cannot provide insurance benefits i.e., in the following cases:

- Treatments not recommended/prescribed by:a:veterinarian.

- Operations that are for cosmetic purposes only.

- Treatments and operations that were not recommended and provided by a veterinarian or a recognized specialist.
